Astacene
Astacene is a major secondary carotenoid that can be extracted from the skin of the goldfish and other species. Astacene is an oxidative artifact of Astaxanthin (HY-B2163). Carotenoids are important biological active, and may regulate cellular differentiation, growth control, photooxidative protection, cell membrane stability, photosynthesis, vision process and nutrition[1][2].
